About me.
I’m a mindbody practitioner in Sussex, specialising in chronic pain and chronic health issues.
My background is in clinical bodywork and hypnotherapy, and I spent more than 20 years working hands-on with people experiencing pain, tension and long-standing physical symptoms. That experience taught me a lot about the body, but it also showed me the limits of treating pain as purely physical.
Like many practitioners at the time, I was trained to view the body largely through a mechanical lens—to identify what was tight, restricted, or out of balance, and then try to fix it.
But over the years, I kept noticing something that didn’t quite fit that model.
Some people improved quickly. Others continued to experience pain despite having similar symptoms, similar findings and receiving similar treatment. And for some, the pain returned again and again, even when there was no obvious physical reason for it to do so.
That made me curious about what else might be going on.
It led me towards pain science, the brain and nervous system, and a much broader understanding of how persistent pain can develop and continue. I began to understand that pain is not simply a measure of what is happening in the tissues. In many cases, the brain and nervous system can become increasingly sensitive and protective, continuing to produce pain even when no ongoing threat requires that level of protection.
That understanding completely changed the way I work.
Today, I use evidence-based mind-body approaches, including Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), alongside my background in hypnotherapy. A central part of the work is helping you understand what may be keeping the pain cycle going, rebuild trust in your body and give your nervous system new evidence that you are safe.
I'm committed to working thoughtfully, honestly, and with respect for your experience.
If pain or anxiety has been limiting your life, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
